My Story

Hi, I'm Anene Theunissen — the heart and hands behind Soet Anna.

Baking has always been more than a hobby for me. It's my passion, and my favourite way of bringing a little extra joy into people's lives. I started my baking journey at a home industry in Paarl, where I spent four wonderful years learning, creating, and sharing my love for cakes with the community around me.

When my family moved back to Swellendam, I chose to step back from baking to focus on what mattered most — raising my children and being present for those precious school years. Family is everything to me, and I wouldn't trade those moments for anything.

Two years ago, Soet Anna was born — first as a creative outlet, a way to do something I truly love. But it quickly became so much more than that. It reminded me just how meaningful a cake can be.

I work with a small number of clients at a time, giving every cake the care, attention, and personal touch it deserves.

There is nothing quite like seeing your face when you lay eyes on your cake for the first time — that moment is what drives everything I do.
